Our Future!
London Heathside has a thriving Young Athletes section that encourages excellence and participation through a focus on technical athletic skills in a fun, safe and social environment.
Our team of dedicated coaches aim to provide structured and enjoyable training sessions, so that your child will progress and enjoy the competitive opportunities that are available.
Many of our young athletes regularly compete for London Heathside in track and field, cross-country and/or road relay events. We also support children preparing for School Championships, London and County Championships plus Borough and Regional events e.g. the London Mini Marathon.
We provide coaching sessions for both primary school (age 9 and above) and secondary school age-groups. Adult helpers are always welcome!
Want to try us out?
All new applicants must complete a trial session before joining. This is both for us to assess the young athlete’s motivation/readiness and for the young athlete to decide if they like what we offer.
Please contact juniors@londonheathside.org.uk to tell us a bit more about your child (eg athletic background/ambitions), ask any questions and register to book your trial session.
Prior to your trial you need to complete the registration form below and for safeguarding purposes, have parental/carer consent to attend. Please return this to juniors@londonheathside.org.uk
Following the trial, we will confirm if there is a place available in an appropriate training group and if so, you can proceed to membership. If there is not a suitable place available, you may be put on a waiting list.
Priority will be given to those motivated to train regularly towards competition.
