Heathside makes Mini-Marathon podium with Lucy Carter

After doing us proud over the cross-country season our young athletes showed that they can deliver fantastic results pounding the pavements, too, producing eight top 50 finishes in the prestigious Mini-Marathon last Sunday, including a superb third place in the U15 Girls race for talented Lucy Carter.

The London Mini-Marathon is structured around boroughs/regions rather than clubs, making results collation a bit taxing (thank you Russell for your hard work) and causing a bit of a delay in us reporting them, but they are worth waiting for. We had nearly 50 athletes running for at least four different boroughs, with eight top 50 finishes and plenty more making it into the top 100 in their age categories.  The breadth of talent on the girls’ side stands out once again, with our U15s packing four into the top 60, led by Lucy in 3rd place, and seven of our U17 ladies making it into the top 100. Congratulations also to Johnny and James for their high placings, and to all the young athletes in fact. You do us proud.
