This week round-up covers the London Youth games and cross-country championships on Parliament Hill.
London Youth Games and London cross-country championships, Parliament Hill, 16.11.24
Well done to the many Heathsiders who took part in the London Youth Games and London cross-country championships on Parliament Hill last Saturday. Conditions were remarkably dry for this time of year. In the youth games, the young athletes ran for their borough. The majority came in the top half of the field with the highest ranking coming from Filip Kounoupas Prastalo who finished 2nd in the U13 race.
In the womens race, Emily Davies led Heathsders home, finishing 13th, followed by Rebecca Piggott (17th), Lily Woolcock (22nd ) and Genevieve Weston (28th). In the men’s race Barry Kelly (13th) was the first Heathider, followed by Samuel Macaulay (19th), Yann Sevestre (21st) and Christopher Gracie (40th). Overall, the womens team finished 5th and the mens team finished 4th. A special mention goes to Jackie Wastell who celebrated her fourtieth run in these championships. Also, many thanks to all the volunteers who made the race happen.
