The spreadsheet has now been in the public domain so long there can be no possible doubt about its accuracy. I am sure many of you have been through it with a fine toothed comb. 

There are just a few more assumptions bunged in here to make it more interesting.

For the younger athletes I have used interpolation to provide age factors where none are given. I have assumed that where they compete over a lesser distance than adults (e.g. 75 m and 75m hurdles instead of 100m, and 1200m instead of 1500m) that the points are based on the greater distance parameters, and that the rest of the race would have been run at the same speed as the beginning.

I have not been able to provide parameters for the 200m walk, so I have awarded the average number of points for all the other events.
