Seville Marathon, Roding Valley and Brighton Halfs

Despite the Nationals dominating the weekend for many, Heathside was also well represented at a handful of marathons, half marathons and ultras, scattered around the country and further afield.

Seville and Tokyo Marathons
I have no information on the Tokyo marathon which was held last weekend and can’t search by club names on their website, so these results will have to wait until next week.  In Seville, 7 Heathsiders took part in the marathon, all had good runs, led home by Dan in a speedy time of 2.48.47.

Half Marathons
Three Heathsiders took part in the Brighton Half at the weekend and Jack Hardy was our first man in, in a time of 1.41 (he was pacing a friend so not going for a PB, he informed me). And over in the Roding Valley Half Mark Jefford finished in 1.29, 2nd in age group 50-59.

Northumberland Leg, Coastal Trail Series, Ultra (57km), 24.02.18
Lenny forsook the hills and mud of North London for the north of England and wrote: “I was racing on Saturday at the Northumberland leg of the Coastal Trail Series, in the the ultra distance (57km) race. I was very happy to take 25 minutes off my time over the same course last year, and match my "best case scenario" goal of a top ten finish, finishing in 5 hours 10 minutes for 10th place overall."

Parkruns

Parkruns had a total of 46 Heathsiders participating, with first places for Kenneth Boulton in 18.38 at Grovelands and John Driscoll 19.10 at Hampstead Heath and first women were Emma Watson, 19.54 at Hackney Marshes and Rebecca Bunting 18.55 at Worthing,  full results can be found here
