Seyfu runs 14:46 in windy 5k in Milton Keynes

Seyfu Jamaal continued with his busy Covid racing schedule, this time running 14:46 in the wind in Milton Keynes on Sunday.

In the same event the steadily improving Chris Vincent ran a road PB of 18:13 while in an equally windy RunThrough event in Lee Valley Jonathan Shipley was the second V40 in the 10k in 38:59 while Valentin Valeaunu was the 3rd V40 in the 5k in 18:42.

Milton Keynes, Sunday September 26

Jonathan Litchfield reports: ‘With a wave-winning 14:46 on a fast albeit extremely windy course, Seyfu Jamaal was a tantalising four seconds short of his own overall club record.

‘The Men's A-race was won by Australian Olympian Ryan Gregson (PBs of 3:31 for 1500m, 3:52 for the mile) in 13:50.  Seyfu's time was 13th quickest on the day.  The Women's race was won by another Australian Olympian, Genevieve Gregson (née LaCaze) in 15:49.

‘Chris Vincent ran a road (non-parkrun) PB of 18:13, while the best thing I can say about my 19:10 is that it was a lot better than my 10k a fortnight ago.’

Results:

Seyfu Jamaal – 14.46 (1st U20, 13th overall)

Chris Vincent – 18:13

Jonathan Litchfield – 19:10
