Seyfu second in UK in Battersea five-mile
The Heathside Performance of the week once again goes to Seyfu Jamaal who broke his PB and club record in running 23:26 in the five mile in Battersea, the second best five mile in the UK this year (the first was the winner of this race, who beat him by a single second). Also outstanding was Catrin Tyler’s 17:56 in the Lordship Recreation Ground Parkrun).

Seyfu pulled off a PB and club record in coming second by one second in this race to Highgate’s Roger Poolman. They were also 1 and 2 in the UK this year so far over the five mile distance, which is not run as often as a few years ago.

Seventy-two Heathsiders raced in 26 Parkruns at the weekend. There were wins for Catrin Tyler in Lordship Recreation Grounds (17:56 – the Parkrun performance of the week), David Bach in Pymmes (17:32), Darryn Hillson in Durbanville in South Africa (17:38) and Johnny Forsyth in Finsbury Park (17:47).
