Half Marathons and Minithons
This week features lots of half marathons with the build up to the Spring Marathon season including the Hillingdon 20 also the first outdoor T&F performances of the season as well as the last Miniton at Lee Valley.
Road Racing
Hampton Court Half Marathon, Hampton Court, 24.3.24
Mark George sent in the following report:- This half marathon started and finished in the gardens of Hampton Court Palace, where it was possible to pose for a picture with a Henry VIII lookalike.
The race itself comprises a flat scenic route around the Thames Ditton & Kingston area, with a stretches along the river Thames. The last two miles are off road on tracks
I only caught sight of two other Heathsiders within the 4000+ runners; there was a top ten finish for Emily Clarke, and Gavi and I were satisfied with our runs

Track and Field
Peterborough & Nene Valley Throws, Peterborough 24.3.24
Elkie Baker kicked off the T&F outdoor season travelling to Peterborough to compete in the Discus competing alongside UK ranked 3rd Zara Obamakinwa and Greg Thompson who both threw over 50m. All top 3 U15 Girls from last year were also taking place with Elkie coming out on top with a throw of 34.69m which would rank her at this early stage of the season as UK No 3 U17W and is a new club U17W record.

Elizabeth Paitoo produced three great performances to finish first in her age group at the last Minithon of the season. Kai Duberry and Olivia Zalli both finished 5th.

Ovr 80 Heathsiders ran in parkrun last Saturday.
