Rob Jackson Road Race Championships
The final results are in for the Rob Jackson Road Race Championship. The last event, the Middlesex 10K at Victoria Park, saw the highest turnout in the series with competitors eager to boost their standings in the champs with the double points on offer at this season finale!
In the women’s competition, Sarah Swinhoe maintained the early lead that she established after the first race in the series, to finish at the top of the women’s table. Jessica Vinluan’s double points at Middlesex 10K leapfrogged her into second place above Rebecca Piggott who took third place.
In the men’s competition, Chris Hartley showed that consistency pays. He was the only athlete to complete all seven of the series races and with his best four results counting, he beat Peter Gould to first place. Third place was Matt Beard who completed five of the races.
Congratulations to everyone who participated in this year’s Road Race Champs. Ahead of next season’s championships, please do let Sandra Buckton know if you have any feedback on the format of the championships or the races that you would like to see included.
