Kew Gardens 10K                                              10 Apr

Over in south west London, Sue Eedle navigated her way to a W65 club record 10K which took place at the picturesque location of Kew Gardens …

 “ …on a chilly but sunny morning with the cherry blossoms out. The course was scenically delightful, but wiggled around all over the place, skirting the Palm House, the Temperate House, the Hive and so on — fortunately it was well signed and marshalled, so there was no real risk of going astray among the flower beds.  It amused me to see the pacers having to dip their flags as they made their way through a long tunnel of wooden arches that will be a gorgeous rose bower once it's fully grown over “.

Flitwick 10K, Bedforshire                                  10 Apr

Emilia and Rebecca travelled to Bedfordshire to run in the Flitwick 10k last Sunday, with Emilia posting another sub 50 time and Rebecca just outside that mark, Emilia reports ;

“ This was a well-organised and friendly race on country roads with lovely views over the countryside and a few hills. It was surprisingly easy to get to, being a very short walk from the trains station, with regular Thameslink trains to Kings Cross.  The post-race bacon sandwiches provided by local scouts were particularly welcome. “
