Israel and the Adrians excel at England Masters Indoors

Sparse pickings this week with the highlights including a brace of good results in the England Masters Indoor event at Lee Valley for Adrian Essex, Adrian Day and Israel Nworgu, and an excellent Parkrun win for Christopher Gracie in Victoria Park (16:43) while young Eric Beale and Amy Kirk won the hilly Ally Pally Parkrun, with Amy coming second overall.

England Masters Indoor Inter-Area Challenge, Lee Valley, Sunday February 25

For the second consecutive weekend our veterans excelled in this indoor England Masters event. Adrian Day (V65) ran 29:92 (faster than last week) to come second in the V65 200m. Adrian Essex did well in three events coming third in the V70 400m (71:32) third in the long jump (3.80m) and fourth in the high jump (1.23m). Israel Nworgu came fourth in the 60m hurdles (9.19) and fifth in the long jump (5.11).

Parkruns, Saturday February 24

There were seven first places for Heathside runners in Saturday’s Parkruns. Eighty-four of our members took part in 35 Parkruns and the following were winners: Christopher Grace in Victoria Park (16:43), both Eric Beale (19:16) and Amy Kirk (20:00) in Ally Pally (and Amy came second overall), Chloe Wilkinson in Finsbury Park (19:47), Emily Reichert in Highbury (19:50) , Alan Hughes in Bedgebury Pinetum (18:47) and Meg Naylor at Humber Bridge (24:32). There were second places for Annabel Litchfield in The Old Showfield (20:15), Chiara Borg in Oak Hill (20:29) and Connor Brown at the University of Northampton (17:11), with Danny O’Reilly coming third there (17:38).
