16 Heathsiders joined 1560 others from accross the UK taking part in the British Masters Virtual Mile Race. With competitors asked to run a mile (previous races had been 10km and 5km) and enter their gps reading. The Club managed three scoring sides, the best placed of which was the Vet Men 55-64 who finished an outstanding 5th place. Paul Kelland and Julia Klek both recorded top 15 Age Group positions.
The fastest time was recorded by Dominic Jones with 5.11with Julia Klek the fastest Heathside women with 5:49. The VM55 men with Paul Kelland, Mark Jefford, Tony Killilea all recording sub 6 minute times were in 2nd place on the last evening of the race but later results saw them slip to 5th behind Chepstow Harriers (16:41) and ahead of Team Bath (17:36).
Great performances from all but we bet they can’t wait for proper racing to recommence. Not long now…..
