International Runners Decathalon, Potsdam, 4-5.6.22

Tony Killiea reports “The 37th International Runners’ Decathlon took place in a lovely lakeside setting in Potsdam. As usual the organisation was excellent and the atmosphere friendly and supportive. The only disappointment was the weather; it was unrelentingly windy and sometimes cool and wet. But, of course, the conditions were the same for everyone and for me the event was about competing for a medal in my age group rather than race times. So, I was delighted to come first out of seven in the M55 category. My points for the various events suggest I am a better sprinter than distance runner.”
