SEAA Medals and return to form in the Met League
Lots of action this week with the Senior Women racing back to the top of the Met League standings after victory at Welwyn and go to the final race with all to play for. The Senior Men’s 3rd place means we are also well placed to retain the Howard Williams Trophy.
In the Southern Indoor Championships we had 3 medalists with Bronze in the U15B and U17M 60m Hurdles and Silver in the U17M 400m. Fantastic efforts from Gabriel, Montana, Sam and Malakai.
Track and Field
SEAA Indoor Age Group Championships, Lee Valley, 12-13.1.24
Of the 4 young athletes who entered the Southern indoor championships 2 won medals with Gabriel Edwards and Montana Dennis both taking bronze in the 60m Hurdles. On the Sunday Sam Brown took silver in the 400m. Gabriel, Montana and Malakai now head to the National Championships in Sheffield.

Cross Country
Met League 4#, Welwyn, 13.1.24
January sunshine greeted the large number of Heathsiders who treaked to Welwyn on Saturday to take part in the penultimate Met League of the season. The journey made more arduous by the engineering work on the east coast mainline. However it was definitely worth it with team wins for both Senior and Junior Women and 3rd places for the Senior Men and U13 Boys. The Senior Women's victory was exceptionally timely pushing them back to the lead in the championship in what is an epic struggle with TVH and VPH&TH. Everything now rests for retention of the title for the 6th year on a row on the last race at Trent Park. Individually Rebecca Bunting returned to finish 3rd in the Senior Women with Rebecca Piggot 4th and Lily Woolcock 9th. Amy Kirk following her first individual medal at the Middlesex Championships was 3rd with Rosa Cormacain, Kiara Corkin and Lila Blustin all in the Junior Women top ten. George Saint was 8th in the Junior Men and Rory Willis 4th and Alex Kirk 9th in the U13 Boys.
