North Lincs and Worcester Half Marathons, and several 10ks
This Bank Holiday weekend was fairly quiet race-wise for Heathsiders but there were nevertheless plenty of PBs to report. Ollie and Vicky Pound both ran PBs at the Worcester Half Marathon, and Gavin and Alice Parish ran 10k PBs at the Self Transcendence 10k Battersea and Regents Park 10k respectively. Andy Welshman ran 82min45sec in the North Lincs Half Marathon, which he reccomends as a pancake flat half on closed rural roads with fanstastic views. What more could you want?
Sam Thompson came 12th in the Watford 10k in a time of 38min53sec, but did not have much positivity about the organisation nor the route. Maybe one to avoid next year?
Elsewhere Laura Boothman ran a PB at the Greenway Challenge, which she reports was a scenic half marathon trail run through farm tracks and woods.
The next race in the Heathside Road Race championships is the Crouch End 10k on Sunday May 18th. Entries are now closed, but please volunteer to marshal if you are around and not running, contact Dave on robertsonhome@blueyonder.co.uk
