Part I - a sunny start and podium finishes at the Met league in Claybury

In the first of this week’s race reports, we cover a very successful day at the first Met league cross-country race at Claybury, for juniors and both the men’s and women’s teams.  All the other races will be covered in the second report. 

Senior men at Claybury

Met League Race 1#, Claybury, 14.10.22

 Simon Baker sent in the following report from Claybury:

 The club started our XC season on a beautiful sunny day at Claybury.  Beth Hawling started the season where she left last year by winning her race with Sefu 2nd in the Senior Men's race with Tom Aldred the first V40.  The Senior women finished 2nd behind VPH&TH, the team weakened a little due to recent marathon races, while with a great turnout the Senior Men finished 3rd.

 The Juniors registered two 3rd places (Junior Women and U13G) and 2 5th places (U11B and U13B) with the Junior Men 6th and U11 Girls with only one runner finishing 11th.  Special mention should go to Amy Kirk (U15G) who was our first finisher in the Junior Women's race finishing 7th and 3rd U15G overall.
