Ridgeway run, several half marathons and minithon medals

It was a relatively quiet weekend of racing for the club, presumably with all Heathsiders gearing up for the first met league race of the season at Claybury next Saturday.  The most popular race of the weekend was the Ridgeway trail run, where our women's team of Miranda, Karen and Sandra came third, with Miranda finshing third F35.  Dan McKeown returned home from the Coniston 14 with a prize, with an excellent run from Joe McKeown there too,  There were several good half marathons over the weekend desipte the wet and windy conditions, including an 8th place finish at the Oxford Half by Patrick Burke,  and a 14th place finish from Chris Burn at the Henley Half, where Louise Atkin was 11th lady with a PB of 97min10sec.  In his third consecutive weekend of racing, including a PB at the Berlin marathon, the unstoppable Henry Hamilton finished the Henley Half in a very respectable 93min09sec. 

 We are not sure how many of our juniors were competing at the Lee Valley Minithon the week before but we do know Kae and Kaiyuki Crisp retunred home with gold and silver medals respectively and Etienne Munday also put in a great performance. 

Lastly don't forget to dig out your spikes / trail shoes and support your team at the met league fixture this Saturday at Claybury, all runners welcome! There is no need to sign up, just turn up on the day.
