Brown & Edwards break club youth records in Lee Valley
Heathside’s athletes were back in the groove last weekend. At the BeFit Indoor Open in Lee Valley on Sunday Sam Brown broke the 16-year-old U17 club record in the 400m in 53:39, U17 sprinter Oscar Hall won his heat in a PB of 7.33 while senior Cian O’Donnell came second in his in 6.9, U13 Gabriel Edwards came first in the 200m in 27 seconds and broke the club’s 60m record in 9.54, and Rachel McDonald ran a PB in the 800m in 2:29. Three veterans - Adrian Day, Adrian Essex and Tony Kililea broke club age group records in the 300m. Another excellent performance was Conor Brown’s PB of 1:15:05 in the Run Through Battersea Park Half.
BeFit Indoor Open, Lee Valley, Sunday January 8
Simon Baker reports that BeFit held their 2nd indoor open of the season at the weekend and among a host of great performances was Sam Brown breaking Ryan Wenzel's 16-year-old 400m record by 1.6s with a time of 53.39s. Elsewhere Gabriel Edwards broke his own 60mH record by 0.1s. Adrian Day, Adrian Essex and Tony Kililea all set new club age group marks in the 300m. Rachel McDonald recorded a PB in the 800m. Oscar Hall also set PBs in the 60m while Suraya Frost ran her first hurdle race of the season.
