Dawn to Dusk Winter Ultra 11 Dec
Filipe Cardoso found time to fit in a city Ultra in challenging conditions, as he reports below
“ For the 2nd time, I took part in the Dawn to Dusk event organised by the Sikhs in the City Running Club in North East London. You can choose between 10km, 22km, marathon, ultra and team relay ultra. I chose to do the ultra again, where during nearly 8 hours, you try to complete as many 2km loops of a circuit as possible. The conditions were a bit challenging with -2 C at the start and frost on the pavements. For the first couple of laps, my hands were freezing but I warmed up after that. I managed an extra lap this year and matched my 4th place finish. At the end, you didn't have to worry about dinner as you get rewarded with delicious samosas and a chickpea curry to take home.”
