British Masters 10mile road Championships Buntingford 30 Dec
Damien reports :
“ A wet and windy Saturday morning saw the running of the Buntingford 10 mile race, incorporating the Hertfordshire Champs and the British Masters Championships for runners entering, enduring and exiting their dotage.
On a hilly course, James Hurrell ran a terrific 54:14 to win a Bronze medal in the M35 section and fourth overall, completing an amazing year of racing for James, who also took Bronze in the equivalent 5K event a few weeks back following his 2:27 at the Berlin marathon in October. I ran 61:27 - enough for a new club M55 record, but not quite good enough for a podium finish, coming home in fourth in that age group.. The next British Masters Champs event is the 10K at Goodwood on 4 February.”
and James reports from the same race, having secured that medal in the V35 age group :
“Damien Lane and I ran this today, final race of the year and a decent end to 2023. A little hilly and with some sharp twists and bends through a residential area initially but then it opened up across some nice country roads. “
4th James Hurrell 54m 14s 3rd V35
44th Damian Lane 61m 25s 4th V55 club V55 record
