YAs take home track PBs at LICC, Watford

The main club events this weekend were the season’s first Southern Men’s League and Young Athletes League fixtures, although results were not available at the time of writing. A Whitstable 10k, coastal half marathon and parkruns make up the rest, while going further back Lily and other young athletes have been putting down markers on the track. 

The British University Championships were also held this weekend, lasting from Friday until Monday and while I thought Mo was due to race I couldn’t find him in the results. A group of Heathside men braved the wind and cold in Bedford on Saturday to kick off the Southern Men’s League, but I don’t have any results yet for those. Same goes for our young athletes, who were competing in the McCain Young Athletes League. Results were kindly supplied for the Whitstable 10k and a coastal half marathon in Flete, South Devon however. Anthony made it 17.5 miles as opposed to the mere 15.7 in the latter after getting lost around the 5 mile marker, but still managed to finish 19th and much faster than the average time of 02:41:18 that is posted on the race website. Looking further back Lily ran a pretty nifty 400m at the LICC to finish 2nd in her heat, while Miron and Daniel appear to have posted PBs in their respective races at Watford on Wednesday.
