Two Rotters in Rotterdam
Phil Hogg reports “Phil and Valentin ran Rotterdam marathon on Sunday. We set off together under perfect grey skies and low wind which made for great running conditions. We split up after 2 km as Phil wanted to run faster, only for Valentin to glide past unnoticed later on. First half was sluggish but an energy gel and a mutual metaphorical self inflicted kick up the ass sorted us out so we could step up at half way. A 1km section just blasting out upbeat music did the trick along with amazing supporters. A strong finish route that felt as if it were downhill, but probably wasn't l, was awesome.
Valentin arrived at 3.01.27 and Phil at 3.02.57. A pb for Phil.
Beers were purchased shortly afterwards, revisiting a rotters pub with Ian and Joe from 2017."
