Only 2 days after his 10K victory, Seyfu was back at Battersea this time for the 5K, having to be content with second place this time around. Rebecca prevailed in the women’s field, shading a close race from the second place runner. Gavin Evans took part and reports ;

Rebecca Bunting maintained her rich vein of form, and came back from fresh injury niggles, to win this 5k at a sizzling hot Battersea Park on Monday evening in a PB time of 17:01. Rebecca beat her previous best by four seconds and was eight seconds ahead of Tonbridge AC’s Helen Gaunt. She’ll will be hoping to knock off at least two seconds next time she runs a 5k to get under the 17-minute barrier.

Seyfu Jamaal was second overall in an excellent time of 14:55 although it was 14 seconds off his PB and 33 seconds behind the winner, Alexander Lepretre of Highgate.”
