U15/U17 National Track and Field championships

It was a fairly quiet week for races, with the main events being the U15, U17 National Track and Field Championships, a few other track races, the Serpentine last Friday of the month 5K, and of course, parkrun.

Heathsiders secure second place in the final SAL

The highlights this week include the climax of the final SAL of the season in Thurrock, in which a strong Heathside turnout helped secure a second place finish, the Vets league and several other track events.

Gold medals for Elkie and Gabriel in South of England U13/U15/17, PBs at Watford Open and Battersea 10K and the Vets League final results

It was a fantastic week of achievements for Heathside with big PBs at the Watford Open and Battersea 10k, two gold medals and a Championship Best Performance at the South of England U13, U15, 17 at Lee Valley, first places at the LICC and a great finale at the Vets League

Win, Club record, and two 2nd places at Battersea races, 2nd at BMC 1500m

This weeks’ action featured distances from 100m to a 100mile Ultra, but the main focus was at Battersea Park where a number of club competitors produced fine performances, not least a new club 10K record fo Seyfu Jamaal, plus second places in the 5K for Matthew Rallison and Rebecca Bunting. Elsewhere Joseph Young took 2nd place in the BMC regional 1500m race, & Filipe Cardoso tackled a 100 mile Trail race on the North Downs

Middlesex Triathlon, UYDL and Derek Crookes Meeting

Lots of varied action this week with track action including the last UYDL at a soggy Walton and youngsters representing Middlesex at the Derek Crookes U13 Inter-Counties Meeting. Elsewhere we had triathalon action at Merchant Taylors School.

Miles of Records Broken, Trey wins England Vest

This week saw U17 Trey Corlis earn his first international vest representing England in the Schools International in Graingmouth while closer to home 4 Club Miles were broken in the Golden Stag Mile.

SAL, UK Athletics Championships, Olympic Park 10k, & Heathside Handicap

The main events this week were the Southern League T&F, Cian O’Donnell’s participation at the British Athletics Championships , and a win for Andy Barnes at the QE 10K. In addition there was a big turnout at the Heathside 5K Handicap race, and Seyfu Jamaal set a course record at Highbury parkrun

Successful MYAL hosted, BMC Races and Ultra racing

Lots to report this week with the club Hosting Round 3 of the MYAL, UYDL action from Guildford as well as Schools Combined Events and other Track Meetings including BMC meetings in Eltham and Wormwood Scrubs. Helena Stone produced a UK leading 100m performance in her parathletic category and on the road James Hurrell won the Serpentine last Friday of the Month 5k.
