Nothing but parkruns to report over the Christmas weekend, but for many this meant a double helping, with runs held on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!

Read MoreThe big race of the weekend (in terms of Heathside participants) was, of course, the London XC Champs on Hampstead Heath, where in relatively mild and dry weather conditions, 47 Men and 27 Ladies competed in club colours. Heathside's Ladies continued their glorious xc season with Ella Waldman, Kelly Thorneycroft, Rebecca Bunting and Sue Rust securing a team 1st place with less than half the points of the 2nd team, all four finishing in the top 15. Kelly, Rebecca and Sue finished in a group of 5 runners, separated by only 2 seconds, in what must have been a thrilling sprint finish to watch!

Read MoreHeathsiders were greeted with a bright and sunny morning and almost perfect conditions for the 2nd Sunday league event of the the season at Grovelands Park Southgate, and were rewarded by some fine individual and team results, helped by a large turnout of 46 runners.

The highlights include stunning runs in New York from Mario Cadete and Jason Bredhauer, great runs in the Marlow, Stevenage and Lancaster half marathons and various races in Kent, involving some of Heathside’s best-known married couples.
