No CrouchEnders cliffhanger as Heathside clean up at Hornsey 10k

Doo doo doo doo doo dooooo do...apologies both for this week’s report being somewhat slower to arrive than Dirty Den's comeback from the dead and also for the excruciating CrouchEnders ‘gags’, partly inspired by the fact that Minty from Phil's garage started the week’s big event, the Hornsey/North London YMCA 10k. There was no suspense or cliffhangers in sight as the stellar cast of Team Heathside cleaned up more thoroughly than Dot Cotton’s launderette, with Rebecca Piggott crowned Queen (Vic) of the women’s event (more to come on the ladies’ fantastic performance later) while Heathside picked up both the men’s and women’s team prizes and young Liam Garrett strode home to win the u-16s race in the junior events.

London Marathon Weekend - Club Records Smashed and Heathside Ladies Scoop Bronze!

MADNESS!  plus Lily Allen, The Kinks, Ralph McTell, Gerry Rafferty - just some of the artistes, to name but a few, who have had hit songs about London, but none of whom (as far as I am aware???) have ever run it - unlike the 48 Heathsiders (at the last count) who started the 35th Virgin Money London Marathon on a fairly cool and drizzly Sunday morning.

Sun, sand, marathon debuts and PBs in Brighton, Rotterdam and Watford

It was a great week for Heathsiders. There were exceptional performances by Phoebe Crockford and Adam Kirk-Smith, who set PBs in 1500m and 3000m, promising marathon debuts in Paris and fantastic performances under warm conditions in the Brighton marathon. In the latter, Henry Hamilton-Gould shattered his PB, despite minimal training. James Lynch also set a new PB, finishing the Rotterdam marathon in under 3 hours. We even have results from the epic Marathon des Sables, where Claire Morrissey put in a super-human performance in the Sahara desert.
