There were relatively few races to report on this week, suggesting that the Brexit referendum had even influenced the running community. The highlights include Adam Kirk-Smith's run in Fast Friday, where he set the track record, Satu Hietanen’s record-breaking performance in Hyde Park and Jo Irwin’s dramatic come-back in the Herculean triathlon.

Read MoreSaturday saw our home SAL match at Lee Valley. The weather may have been a bit overcast but our spirits were high.
Read MoreTwo to report from here. First up on Monday 6th, Richard Macauley was the sole person to sport Heathside colours down at Battersea but he more than made up for that by putting in a great run and finishing 4th with a PB time of 16:21.
Read MoreAnother week, another record for our Adam Kirk-Smith. He made a guest appearance in the 3000m steeplechase at the British Athletics League Division 1 match at the Linford Christie Stadium and took second place in a time of 9:19.13 (14 seconds speedier than his previous club record, set a fortnight earlier). What next Adam? Watch this space….
Read MoreThe highlight of this weekend's racing was the Vitality London 10k, incorporating the British 10k Championships. At the front end of the race, Tom Aldred broke into the top 20, finishing inside 32 minutes. Just a squeak behind Tom was Adam Kirk-Smith, who finished a mere 18 seconds back, in 29th. If a new arrival in the family wasn't already giving Tom sleepless nights, Adam probably would be.

There were many spectacular results in the YDL by the under 13s and under 15s, including Gabriel, Ruairia and Bill coming first in their events. Also causing great excitement was the Highgate Harriers Night of the 10,000 PBs held at Parliament Hill track, with Adam just missing first place in the final lap. There was also impressive times in Brathay Windermere Half, Richmond Park Marathon and Eton Dorney Triathlon.

With strong performances on the track and field, we narrowly missed out on first place by one-and-a-half points. And to top it off, Adam Kirk-Smith and Stephanie Kleynhans broke club records for the 3000m steeplechase and long jump, respectively.
Read More73 Heathsiders (by my reckoning) ran in the 2016 YMCA Crouch End 10km. Before we get to the results, firstly a mightily BIG THANKS to all those of you who volunteered to marshall, and provided much appreciated vocal support along the way - with a special mention to Laura Boothman who, yeah, verily, brought down the mighty Walls of Jericho with her exuberant cheering and encouragement! And also to Chris Hartley and the 9am Run Crew who ran along beside us shouting out encouragement, before heading off to knock out a 20-miler!
Read MoreWith many Heathsiders away at the Sandy Balls training week-end, only a few braved the searing temperatures to race this week-end. The highlights this week include Adam Kirk-Smith’s tantalising PB in Hackney, the Velopark duathlon and an epic race against the car in Cambridge.
