Club records broken at Lee Valley and Battersea Park, Milton Keynes marathon “reimagined” and triathlons resurface

It was almost back to normal on the racing front this weekend, and from the looks of things lockdown doesn’t seem to have been too detrimental to Heathsiders fitness, keenness and speed. On Saturday the juniors had their first races since lockdown, at Lee Valley, with some impressive results, and on Sunday there was some great racing from the U17s and over.

Heathsiders Blow Lee Valley Away

Heathsiders efforts were centred on Lee Valley at the weekend with Sara Black 2nd Woman in Runthrough 10k at the Vel Park with Fabian Thehos 2nd in his wave of the Half Marathon Race. On the Lee Valley track Thomas Archer recorded a top 10 UK U17M ranking time in the 1500m

Pennington does the virtual ultra double

In our first race report for a while, we have two detailed reports on virtual ultras from Steve Pennington. Steve ran the Centurion 50k, winning the V50 category in a fine time of 3:26 (going through the marathon mark in an impressive 2:55). Two weeks later Steve and his girlfriend Lisa ran the Endure 24-hour race, and together they completed 123 miles.
