This week was quieter than last with the Southern XC Relays held at Wormwood Scrubs. Unfortunately we only managed two full teams with the Senior race marred by poor marshalling which appears a feature of SEAA events lately. Elsewhere Heathsiders tackled marathons/half Marathons home and abroad.

There were also impressive times at the Chicago Marathon, and closer to home at the Ridgeway 15K trail run
Read MoreThe main event was the London Marathon, with Heathsiders led home by Tom Aldred and Olivia Desborough respectively, amongst several other quality runs. The mini marathon also took place the day before. Away from Central London, there were Heathsiders participating at Wales’s biggest race, the Cardiff Half Marathon, and the cross country season got off to a fairly low key start at Dagenham.

These included a first place for our U17 women in the Southern Road Relays (Hattie Munday, Ruby Walls and Izzy Watkins), firsts for Seyfu Jamaal (30:37) and Amy Cook (a 37:58 PB) in the Middlesex 10k and a V50 PB of 34:35 for Ed Boden in the same race.

Read MoreThe highlight of the weekend was a big win for Seyfu in the Big Half. Elsewhere there was fun on the Heath in the annual Duathlon (Pondathon) and earlier in the week young Heathsiders headed off to Southend, the highlights being Malia Anderson-Watson coming first in the discus, and Jayden Smith and Kingston Bennet coming first in 75m, and Kingston also first in 150m and long jump. We also now have the Heathside Club Champs results Pt 2.
