Issy Watkins produced our best performance over the weekend breaking the club U17W 800m record and taking the gold medal at the South of England Champs. Cian upgraded his 2021 bronze to silver in both the 100m and 200m at the Scottish Champs, and at SAL match 4 we achieved a good number of wins despite the heat and a reduced team.

Undoubtedly a quieter week for race action, with no big club events, nevertheless fine performances were recorded over the 5 and 10K distances at various road and track events ( pic is from the Chase the Sun 10K ). The highlights were road race wins on different days at Battersea Park for Seyfu Jamaal and Rebecca Bunting, over 10K and 5K respectively.

It was a fantastic week of racing for Heathside with many excellent results. The big news this week is that the Heathside juniors retained their title in the MYAL, after having won the fourth and final event of the season and Seyfu came in first overall at the Last Friday of the month 5k in Hyde Park. Great results too in the England Athletics Senior Champs.

The weekend saw the English Schools Championships the pinnacle of Youth Athletics and the club having a record representation of 11 picked by London and Middlesex to compete returning a Gold for Sam Brown in the JB 300m as well as Bronze, 4th, 5th, 6th and 8th places. Elsewhere we had athletes representing Middlesex AA at the Inter-County Championships and Cian O’Donnell improved his Club 100m record in the National Athletics League and set a new 200m mark running for Middlesex.
