This weeks highlight was Evangelista Divetain breaking the club record 10K record by 8 seconds at the French National Championships.There were also other good performances at events over distances from 5K to marathon, including a number of PB’s, plus first place finishes from Harry Klieman and Brogan Wallace at Battersea Park. Heathside’s Spring marathon season kicked off on Sunday with an exceptional performance by our women in Manchester – a brace of PBs from Rebecca Bunting (2:41:47), Josie Hinton (2:50:02) and Catrin Tyler (2:52:10) that might have given us the first women’s team place (watch this space).

Lots of different Action this week with Road Relays some last Cross Country and Indoor action and road races home and abroad. Highlight of which were the women’s 9th and men’s 19th places in the Southern Road Relays in Milton Keynes to both qualify for the National Road Race Championships.

There was a good mix of racing at the weekend. We are coming near the end of XC events, but it was good to see 11 Heathsiders running in Loughborough at the BMC xc Challenge final and also Pete flying the flag as the lone Heathsider at the British Masters XC championship in Tonbridge. There was also the Inter area Masters champs at Lee Valley, Half Marathons at Paddock Wood, Milton Keynes and Victoria Park and a 5k at Victoria Park.

A varied bumper edition this week, comprising the second round of the Club Road race Championships, several half marathons including a big club turnout at Cambridge, the Chingford League finale at Wanstead, plus Indoor Track and Field action at the British Masters.

Storm Eunice saw the last Met League cancelled and our Senior Women confirmed Champions for the fourth year in a row with the men 3rd overall. The Club have had their most successful Met League season finishing 2nd in both the Senior and Junior Howard Williams Trophy . Elsewhere there was road and indoor track action.
